I have been a registered pharmacist for 30 years and during that time I have worked in a wide variety of pharmaceutical environments. My initial career was spent in the hospital environment in England, mainly in the sterile dispensing speciality covering both cytotoxic reconstitution and a centralised intravenous additives service. Following a move to New Zealand in 1999 I have taken the opportunity to gain experience in the retail sector, particularly in the area of compliance packing. I am currently working for the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) providing quality assurance oversight for the medicines repacking facility, combining both my production and compliance packing experience, and pharmaceutical advice across NZDF.
